Monostearin 

Monoglyceride and distearate (monoglyceride for short) are the most widely used additives and emulsifiers in oil chemical industry and daily chemical industry. Its hydrophilic lipophilic balance value (HLB value for short) is 3.6-4.2, which is oil-soluble. Besides emulsification, it also has the functions of precipitation, depression, aging and control of fatty acid condensation. It is a typical non-ionic surfactant.
Monoglycerides are yellowish waxy solids used as emulsifiers and surfactants in food and cosmetics, as well as lubricants for polyvinyl chloride transparent granules. The product is insoluble in water, hot soluble in oil, paraffin, ethanol, chloroform, acetone, ether.

This product is mainly used in the following industries:
① Additives for food candy: as an emulsifier to add chocolate, margarine, ice cream, etc., or as a surfactant, it can also be used in flour products and soy milk products. The addition of 01~0.3% in bread can improve the preservation, increase the softness and volume, improve the organizational structure of bread, and prevent the aging of bread; Add 0.2~0.5% in chocolate products, can prevent sugar crystallization and oil and water separation, increase the delicate feeling; Add 5~15% of the base material to bubble gum, milk candy is calculated by oil, adding 5~10% can prevent oil separation, increase luster and prevent teeth sticking when eating; Add 0.3~0.5% to margarine or use with lecithin 0.1~0.3% to prevent oil and water separation; Add about 0.8% to the can to prevent oil and water separation.
② In cosmetics: it is the raw material of skin care agent balm, cold cream, hair lotion, shampoo and so on.
③ Thickening agent of pharmaceutical ointment, also used as emulsifier in pharmaceuticals.
In the plastic industry is mainly used as a defilm agent, plasticizer, antistatic agent, but also especially suitable for plastic foam products, such as "pearl cotton" production process as an anti-shrink agent. In the composite lead salt stabilizer is an indispensable lubricant, in the production of agricultural greenhouse film, the single glyceryl ester is the main raw material of the flow drops.
(5) Monoglyceride can also be used as a plasticizer of cellulose nitrate, a modifier of alkyd resin, a latex dispersant and a compound for synthetic paraffin.
